This is the story of a girl....

Friday:
Took The Fatman and his girl out to dinner. Good food. Wife was late... almost left before she came. Spent the rest of the night at home trying to clean up before my wife's family shows up. Fighting mostly happened...

Saturday:
Got up around 9:00AM went to Phoenix to Pick up her brother. Then we went to lunch at bahama Breeze Had a pretty good sandwhich... not my favorite place to eat... but I'd go again if In-in-out is packed like it was today. Then went to the mall to kill more hours till her sister got here... saw Kung-Fu Hustle That movie kicks ass! Makes me want to watch Shaolin Soccer again. Then got her sister... headed home and went to Midway Molina's for dinner.

Sunday:
Woke up late and helped my brother-in-law cook "breakfast" for everyone. Then we went to Mt. Lemon and had a handfasting ceremony for my sister-in-law and her new "husband". Came back down off the mountain and went to the Auntie christ's house. Found that Daniel had further trashed the place with his "art" and the Auntie christ had him arrested for domestic violence, to which he went to jail in Texas because he had a warrent out for his arrest. Just to give you an idea of the "art" that he makes. He made an addition to the house completely out of wood. Wood from palets. Wood from palets that motocycles came in. BMW motocycles, yep from Germany. If you look up into the rafters of the Gazebo outside you can even see some of the tags still on the wood. They say things like the fact that the wood came from Germany and even what German forrest it came from. "Isn't that veird?". His "art" includes a home made wheelchair. This wheelchair has wheels from a bike, a seat from an office chair, and you steer it with your feet. Kinda like those sitting bicylces. However the person who needs it, has a fucking broken foot!
Oh and the feeling in the room was not too cozy either. You see the Auntie didn't know that my sister-in-law and my brother-in-law were coming to town... she was none too happy that we did not warn her about them. Mind you, she has not seen or spoken to my sister-in-law since she saw her at my mother-in-law's funeral. Grandma was there too... it was fun... let me put it to you this way... my soon to be brother-in-law (is that what you call my sister-in-law's husband to be?) said "boy, you could cut that tension with a knife" when we got in the car to leave.
Oh, did I mention that the Auntie christ was not invited to our wedding? In fact she was told that we did it in front of a justice of the peace. Grandma was supposed to keep that secret. Found out Thurs that she knows now that she wasn't invited last year... makes the tension in that room seem a little more hot than I originally had felt.
Then went to a friend's house... had Grandma Tony's pizza and went back home to bed.

Monday:
I went to work. Spent time working on how to get out net manager website to talk to an LDAP server. Went home scratching my head. Everyone else went to Mexico to shop. Brother-in-law cooked dinner when they got back. Good ish too.. Alfredo pasta... good ish.

Tuesday:
Went to work. Figured out the whole LDAP thing. Went to Red Lobster after work for the soon to be's birthday. He ate a whole lobster. Then went to Friend's place again to hang out for the night.

Wednesday:
Didn't go to work. Went insead to Patagonia. A fun time was had by all. Let me put it to you this way. There was naked time and cold water....

** Okay so it was only a 2 1/2 year old that got naked. But a good time was still had by all. Came back to town and had susi... good ish.

Thursday:
Wife and sister-in-law went to work. I slept in... woke up... read a good comic book (Formerly know as the Justice League)... then went to Bookman's and Carl's Junior for lunch since the soon to be had not been there and doesn't have one in Canada. Went to Fourth Ave to meet wife and sister-in-law... waited.... waited.... called wife at work... she's still there... WTF?!? Went to her work... found that she's making jewelery... finally got her to leave and go to my folk's house... had dinner there... came home and the soon to be got a massage from my wife who's going to be a massage therapist soon... watched "The Big Labowksi" and "PCU". Made some "back-ups"... took them to the Airport....

Friday:
left about 2:00AM... about killed us all as I was very tired... manged to make it back in once piece... slept for about 6 hours... then couldn't sleep anymore... played some COH...

Kill all the old people who don't want to change.

Okay... so I work at this place and we have two "old" dudes who work here. They are totally unwilling to change. The phrase from Wayne's world keeps running through my head "Change, We fear change".
Anyway... we have one dude (Walt) who puts up road blocks to anything related to the network because he's a telcom guy and if things change then he's out of a job. So he spends his days gathering his troops to ensure that the network stays leashed.
Then there's Ric. He works right next to me in the next cubical over. He doesn't like change at all. Everything is "no" to him. He could work for the Capital One company doing their commercials. Today we got our IP phone installed. So that we can start to get used to them before they cut over our "old" ISDN phones. Note, I said ISDN phones. So we are not talking the POTS(Plain Old Telephone System) phones that you find in most homes. I would consider the POTS phones the reliable system and anything else pretty much prone to service outage. However Ric feels that his ISDN phone is the only phone he should have and so he fears the IP phone. In fact he would often say to the IP phone group, "When are you going to install the IP phone at my desk, so that I know the day that phone will stop working". So needless to say he has no faith in them.
I've worked in call centers and I know that IP phones are fine. They work just as well as any other phone service, if they are set up correctly. Anyway... ric sits down today after the IP phone was installed and says "Oh, good! I still have a working phone on my desk". What a fucker. Just kill them... or at least fire them and put them in a nice soft padded room that doesn't change.

Oh and my wife's sister, her soon to be husband and her brother are in town (well, her brother left this morning) so I'm not going to be able to update for a little while as I'm taking "vacation" time. I'll post all the things that happened next week :)
