A shout out!

I want to give a shout out to my neighbors who decided not to be home this AM and still keep their 5:50AM alarm clock on... oh and for buying an alarm clock that goes for the next hour!

My Best Life Now... You Betcha!

What are you going to do when you pastor a church that has just purchased the 18,000 seat Houston Compaq Center and raised funds for it's 95 millon dollar purchase/renovation by selling seach seat for a $2500 donation? I'll tell you what you do... you make another couple of million by putting out a prosperity Gospel book! Goodness Gracious Ain't God Good???

Yes, read more about Joel Out-of-steam... er... uh.. Osteen and find out about how you too can be all you can be. Wake the Champion inside or at least read about Joel's champion inside him as he takes you on a whirlwind tour of theological extrapolation that will make you dizzy... and then wealthy... we hope. And when it comes time to tithe all that money... don't forget you heard about the book here at Peculiar People!

Out-of-steam Book ............ $55.22

The hospital

St. Joe's hospital is a strange place... the waiting room I am sitting in is for Maternity and for Surgery. So you have people waiting for life and for possible death in the same room. You have tears of joy for the newborn baby and tears of sadness for the ones that didn't make it out of surgery.
This waiting room also reminds me of two other times I've been here... once was last year for appendix to be taken out... time before that was many years ago when my Pappa D. died.... I'm not sure I like sitting here, there is two sets of elevators, one is for regular people and is pretty small... on the other side of the rooom is two larger elevators, meant for moving beds between floors... those are the ones I stood in front of as I waited to hear about Pappa D. I don't like sitting on that side of room and they make it hard not to look at them. There's no TV here either.... woman up front says its to keep people from sticking around here.... don't want them to get hooked on a show or anything... I think it's because they don't want people to fight over what's on.... or watching something that might offend someone... or they just don't want to shell out the money for one... not really sure
There is a man of about 26 here... I thik he's here because his wife is in for gall bladder surgery. A set of grandparents just left, overjoyed. There is a large mexican family congregating over in the corner. Many of them have come out of the sugery wing crying... my guess is that something didn't go well.
Another set of men just walked in with a bunch of flowers and ballons, one of them reads "IT'S A GIRL!" So I'm guessing that they are waiting for news about a new baby girl... although I could be wrong ;)
There's another mexican family here, they are all pretty young. Most of the girls either have kids in their arms, or are very pregnant and probably will be back here in a few months. They are all waiting for one of their famly members to give birth as well. Two of the kids have a cell phone... these kids are about 8 years old... what they hell do need cellphones for? Hehe, the kid just tried to dial a number and I guess sprint has it set to only allow it to dial certian numbers... that's kinda cool. The ringer however is "My Humps" by the Black Eyed Peas and the kid keeps playing the 25 second ringer over and over again... I don't think the little girl who owns the phone even knows what "get you drunk off my luck lady lumps" means.. and frankly I'm a bit shocked she even has that ringer... guess I'm getting old.
Sean, Patti, my wife, Grandma and the other little one are all upstairs right now. My wife is listed as the doula/massage therapist on the registry. Me... I'm listed as a friend... the space was too small to put husband of the doula/massage therapist.
Earlier there was a superbowl tailgate party type thing. They had huge ass hotdogs, wings, burgers, cotton candy and popcorn. I'm stuffed and probably going to regret adding the cheese and chili to the hotdog.
The woman behind the counter here is as sweet as can be, and mostly handles the surgery side of things in this waiting room. She gets to know just about everyone in here and is happy to update anyone of the progress that people are making just down the hall. When she left, they replaced her with a woman with very little teeth and in a wheelchair. Now I'm all for having people work where they want to... but this woman is close to death herself... I think I just saw her hack up a lung.
6 more people just showed up for the family in the corner...
I just read the door... Private consultation room... not good for that family...
Woman in the other corner is just white trash... she keeps talking about her good for nothing boyfriend who won't go away. He's been kicked out twice and his stuff keeps showing up... and I think I just heard her say that he let his sister move into the guest house for the last month and didn't tell her....
another 6 more for the family in the corner...
Doctors are odd... they come out giving information such as "any minute now" and "real soon" but don't ever seem to live up to the expectations they just set. The 26 yr old is pacing now... about an hour ago the dr. said any minute now... of course the nice lady that left earlier told him otherwise... but he seems to want to belive the doctor over her...
Patti is doing well, seems that the epi is making her left leg numb however...
The 26 yr old just got up and went over by the big elevators... looks like his wife is coming out of surgery and being moved. Nope... they sat down... sat for about 20 minutes... they then went to talk to the woman in the wheelchair about the status of his wife, looks like they moved her back to her room and sliped past them. They have now left...
Woman in the wheelchair talks to herself, it's creeping me out....
All the kids from the corner room have come out... I had to move back over by the big elevators again... Grandma just walked by with Movies for the little one... guess the cotton candy and popsicle she gave her has wound her up pretty good. Battery life on this laptop is prety good... of course all I'm doing is typing on here... coding without testing is hard though...
She's doing fine... Dr. is coming in now... The lady across the hall just had a baby, I have been told...
5:00 PM 2/3/2006 - Sabrina is born... My wife just came out with the little one in tow as she got scared when mommy was screaming...
A little bruised in the face from hitting the pelvis on the way out, but nothing worse for the wear... breast feeding already and at almost 7 pounds.
Hello world from Sabrina!
Battery is almost dead in the laptop.... gotta run
