Not a completely satisfied customer

Is it just me or is customer service in all areas of life going down the shitter? I mean I’ve called or e-mailed several major companies over the last few months and each and every one of them did not leave me a “satisfied customer”.

The worst in my book still is Cingular Wireless. They took over for AT&T who already had the worst customer service rating and just took it down yet another level. I think I’m really pissed off because of the fake stuff that they think that we want to hear. I had to call them yesterday to cancel Enterprise Paging… that took 20 minutes and 4 phone calls to finally get to the right person/place. At least they refunded my money for last month and this month…. However today… more bullshit and more run around…

First of all you start off with the voice prompting phone tree. It’s supposed to be this soothing woman to help you navigate the phone tree. However the problem that you have is not one that she recognizes. Therefore she has to state the tree in order for you to get anywhere. I’m not that old… but I prefer the old fashioned phone tree system. At least with the older phone tree I got hear the choices and it took a lot less longer to get to a human being. To start the phone tree they ask for your cellular number. Yet when you get to a rep they ask for the same thing… when they transfer you to another group… they ask for the same thing… really annoying….

Here was my conversation today…

10:44 AM 7/19/2005
1-866-293-4634
Punched in my cell number… talked to the phone tree…
10:46 AM 7/19/2005
Talked to a Wendy
Told her of my problem and she put me on hold for about 2 minutes
Told of a $35 deductible
xfer'd to Insurance

Shannon
Told her Sunday 7/17/05 phone was broken
She puts me on hold for about 4 minutes and comes back and says that she can’t find that I have insurance on that phone.
Told to call customer service to make sure I have insurance on this phone
1-800-888-7600
11:00 AM 7/19/2005 Called the number
11:03 AM 7/19/2005
Made through the phone tree
Verified that I got Insurance on June 23rd, 2005
He called the insurance folks
11:06 AM 7/19/2005
Put on hold
11:08 AM 7/19/2005
Stephanie
Got my info again... I swear... it would be easier if they used the same system...
11:10 AM 7/19/2005 put on hold again
11:13 AM 7/19/2005
Told I would get the phone by Fedex in one to two business days
11:14 AM 7/19/2005

So it took me 30 minutes to get a phone replaced… that’s just bullshit…

All the while it was unfelt sayings like “Oh I’m sorry to hear that” and “I’m sorry that happened to you and I would be happy to help you with your problem.” Imagine those sayings in the worst monotone and you’d come close to what was being said….

Oh and if you go into a Cingular store… just know that they are only there to sell you a phone. You can’t pay your bill, you can’t get technical help, only buy a cell phone or over priced accessory.

You’ve seen my rant on Gateway… so I’m not going there…

Dell… well after 4 weeks of going around with them and them just replacing stuff willy nilly… a new video card fixed the problem…

So I’m not a completely satisfied customer for any of these.
